Ms. Ellen’s Music Studio

Teaching music has been one of my greatest loves in life! When I teach, I uphold Dr. Shinichi Suzuki’s philosophy that every child can learn an instrument through active and passive listening and having a positive musical environment in their home. For all my students, I expect parents to encourage their children to practice daily to allow for proper progression and success at the lessons. I teach students as young as 4 years old as well as adults in both violin and piano. As a member of my music studio, you will have the opportunity to perform in the community and at yearly recitals. I also offer a free introductory lesson to understand your learning style and to see if I’d make a good fit as you or your child’s teacher!

Learning Piano

Piano lessons are a great way to introduce music to a developing child! Beginning lessons focus on ear training and finger coordination. I require all my piano students to have an acoustic piano or an electric weighted keyboard at home to practice on. Lessons are currently taught in-person (Joshua Tree) or once a week on Zoom with a 1/mo in-person at your home (LA). I offer 30, 45, and 60 minute lessons. Lesson fee is based on experience level and my drive to your home.

Learning Violin

Learning to play the violin at a young age is an amazing way to develop coordination and ear training in children. For beginner violin students, it is NOT required to have the physical instrument upon starting. I will assist you in finding an instrument that is the right size for your child that you can rent on a month to month basis. Lessons are currently taught once a week in-person (Joshua Tree) or on Zoom with a 1/mo in-person at your home (LA). I offer 30, 45, and 60 minute lessons. Lesson fee is based on experience level and my drive to your home.
